I was reading the "Islamic Terrorism Timeline 1975" about East Timor and came across this quote about the CFR:

Quote:
That quote is one of a million reasons I have come to see America as a one-party system. The Council on Foreign Relations furnishes both Republican and Democratic candidates and then supplies most every senior government official. The amoral organization, the vanguard or the New World Order, is a Fascist institution masquerading as socialist secular humanists. These elitists partner with Islam because the religion is the most effective repressive totalitarian tool ever devised by man. Today's "War on Terror" in Afghanistan and Iraq was masterminded by the CFR and their counterpart in the United Kingdom.

Does anyone know if either Obama or McCain are members? I went to the CFR's web site but have not been able to find information on current members.

Sorry, I posted too soon. This site lists "John S. McCain III (R-Az)" as a member but not Obama.

I did find this one reference to Obama and the CFR from "The Hemp Pages" (I know, I know):

Quote:
Is Barack Obama a member of the Council on Foreign Relations? Rumor has it that he is, but it’s not official. However, he does get huge support from other members of the CFR. See here for a list of his top contributors. His wife is a member. And he promotes the agenda of CFR (NAFTA, NAU, free-trade).

You can also find a list of Obama's top contributors here.

I don't know how reliable "The Hemp Pages" is - this quote appears on the top page:

Make the most of the Indian hemp seed, and sow it everywhere!” - George Washington

They support Ron Paul.

Yada, I'm not sure if Obama is a CFR member or not. While I hope for my countries sake that I'm wrong on this point, the sense I have so far on BHO is that he'll be leaning heavily on his staff (as all President's so) but him more so than most. Having gone so swiftly from Chicago community activist, to back bencher in the Illinois State Senate to US Senator for much less less than one term to favored Presidential candidate, he's remained a media darling and has yet to be truly scrutinized. The gaffs that he's made on the campaign trail have also been readily dismissed as have the inconsistancies of his positions. Even if he's not a CFR member I think there is good reason to believe that he'll be reliant on their support. Also a candidate that is essentially a media creation is much more dependant on keeping them on his side than those who go against the grain so to speak. Thanks for the information on John McCain's affiliation.

What 'counterpart' in the UK do you think Yada was referencing?

Yada, can you please clarify which comment of Yada's relating to a UK counterpart you're asking about? A UK counterpart to the CFR organization I'm guessing?

The British counterpart for the CFR is commonly called the British Institute for International Affairs, though its official title may actually be the Royal Institute for International Affairs. Its website is: http://www.chathamhouse.org.uk/ . There are similar organizations in many British Commonwealth nations and others as well: New Zealand, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Japan, etc.

The Institute for International Affairs was founded by the same people who foisted the CFR on America: House, Morgan, Rothschild, etc. I mention it in passing in FH chapter 14: Mystery Babylon.

Thanks kp. Here's an excerpt from Future History, Chapter 14, "Mystery Babylon":

Quote:
Space and time won’t permit a complete study of the Illuminati in this book. But I feel that it offers us a revealing glimpse of what the organizational structure of the whore of Babylon might be like as we enter the last days. If the Illuminati isn’t part of Babylon, I’d strongly suspect that some group who looks just like them is. I’ll leave it up to you to figure out who they are. But please, don’t take my word for any of this. Rather, I would encourage you to do your own research—anybody with a library card or a Web browser can figure this out. To whet your appetite, I would like to present a partial list of organizations compiled by Terry Melanson and published on the website www.ConspiracyArchive.com. We needn’t draw all the same conclusions he did, of course, but we’d do well to avail ourselves of the research. Each of the names on this list has been linked directly to the Illuminati:

Religious groups: World Council of Churches; National Council of Churches; World Parliament of Religions; the Vatican; Unity Church; Unitarian Universalist Church; Baha’i; Knights of Malta; plus a plethora of new age groups and liberal protestant denominations....

Secret societies: Freemasonry (Satanic to its core—don’t get me started); Skull and Bones (a member of which currently occupies the White House, after having defeated a fellow member in his reelection campaign); Grand Orient Lodge; Grand Alpina Lodge; Knights Templar; Royal Order of the Garter; Priory de Sion; Rosicrucians....

Financial institutions: World Bank; International Monetary Fund; International Bank of Settlements; World Conservation Bank; plus many central banks, multinational corporations, and foundations....

Educational groups: UNESCO; Planetary Congress; World Goodwill; World Union; Esalen Institute; Lucis Trust; World Federalist Association; World Constitution and Parliamentary Association; plus other global peace groups, environmental awareness organizations, and the media establishment....

Political groups: United Nations (surprise, surprise); Council on Foreign Relations; Trilateral commission; Club of Rome; Bohemian Grove; Aspen Institute; Communist Party; plus regional federations like NATO and the EEC, and international labor unions....

Intelligence groups: CIA, FBI, British Intelligence (MI6); Interpol; KGB; plus drug cartels and organized crime syndicates....

It’s like the old joke: just because you’re paranoid, it doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you. As I said, I’m not going to take the time to explore every nook and cranny of the Illuminati. But two of these organizations bear further exploration, if only because they’re so pervasive and influential in America today. I am fully aware, of course, that the unfolding of Biblical prophecy will not be confined within our borders. These are merely two examples among many of how the whore of Babylon can operate under our very noses without us being aware of it.

Speaking of Knights, what about a "Royal Knight Companion at Windsor Castle?" From CNN:

Quote:
Prince William knighted (0:57)
The royal family was on hand as Prince William became a Royal Knight Companion at Windsor Castle.

I didn't quite know whether to post this here or under the "Harry Potter/cap & gown" thread." Wonder what the emblems represent on all of the costumes everybody's wearing? With all the capes, swords, and feathers parading about, it reminded me a little of a Knights of Columbus gathering - except that capes worn by the royals were obviously tailored.(:0)

That's interesting Rob. A quick search online for the "Order's" origins revealed:

Quote:
The Most Noble Order of the Garter

The origin of the symbol of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, a blue 'garter' with the motto Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense will probably never be known for certain as the earliest records of the order were destroyed by fire, however the story goes that at a Ball possibly held at Calais, Joan Countess of Salisbury dropped her garter and King Edward seeing her embarrassment picked it up and bound it about his own leg saying in French, Evil, (or shamed) be he that that thinks evil of it' this is almost certainly a later fiction. This fable appears to have originated in France and was, perhaps, invented to try and bring discredit on the Order. There is a natural unwillingness to believe that the World's foremost Order of Chivalry had so frivolous a beginning...

So nobody really knows for certain what the orgins/history are - but, on the same page, I found some interesting photos. Do you see any familar symbols? The circular image of the Sun, the Mithraic cross, the bull, the owl (Molech? Bohemian Grove, found on the US Dollar), a snake, two keys, etc. The last photo even appears to have a gold circle with an "X" - the same symbol Catholics use. Any occult symbolism here?

Naah.

A little farther down on the same page, was this photo of "the Prince's crest." I included a Babylonian lion under it - any similarity?

Finally, I stumbled across a photo labelled as "Ishtar." Looks like it's only got one horn - much like a unicorn. Hmm...that's odd.

Watching the video of the "Order of the Garter" ceremony, I wondered about all of the 'feathers' that eveyone was wearing. I just happened to stumble across this entry about feathers on a Wiccan site:

Quote:
Black Ritual Feathers, Price: $1.00 each

These black ritual feathers are perfect to aid in smudging or to represent the element of air. Each feather is approximately 10" - 13" long, and 1 3/8" to 1" wide. Some feathers might have some slight discoloration.

Hmm, feathers "represent he element of air." What do you think, from the photo below, any connection?

By the way, the caption next to the photo of Prince William reads:

Quote:
Prince William was officially inaugurated into the world’s oldest order of chivalry when he was made a Knight of the Garter

"The world's oldest order" - yeah, right.

You can view all of the photos from the Telegraph here.

Again, from the same "Wiccan" site, this time regarding "pagan jewerly."

Quote:
Welcome to Goldentree's selection of Pagan jewelry! Here you will find a variety of sterling silver jewelry, semi-precious stone bead jewelry, pewter jewelry, and hemp jewelry, as well as other hemp items, all handmade by Willow Goldentree. We have incorporated many Pagan and Wiccan symbols, as well as semi-precious stones and other magical materials into our various Pagan Jewelry. Witches and Pagans have always worn jewelry to help focus energy, aid in healing or concentration, or simply to identify themselves in subtle ways.

Again, the question - what do you think? Any similarity?

Perhaps it's time to break this out into another thread. Just one more post - again from the shopping section of a "Wiccan" site:

Quote:
"Initiate" Style Robe

This style of robe is open in the front with an oversized rounded hood and huge belled sleeves. These robes are "unisex," equally attractive on men and women alike. It is named the "Initiate" robe because it is the preferred style of robe for traditional Wiccan initiation ceremonies.

These amazing robes, when lined, are made from an astonishing 18 yards of the highest quality fabrics! This creates an extremely roomy garment, something of a cross between a robe and a cloak. It has all of the volume of a cloak, but with the belled sleeves as well.

Our "Initiate" robes can be lined or unlined. The picture to the left is of the lined version of this robe. If lined, the robe would be fully lined (body, hood, and sleeves) with the fabric of your choice, either satin or crepe satin.

Given that kp references 'The World Council of Churches,' I thought this was an interesting quote:

Quote:

Dean comments on World Council of Churches assembly

Quote of the Day: Southern Baptist Seminary Dean Russell D. Moore "The World Council of Churches has long been a boutique of paganism in Christian garb. This year's assembly happenings, including the recognition of `the Holy Spirit' working in non-Christian world religions, only continues the downgrade." -- Russell D. Moore, dean of the school of theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., commenting on the Feb. 14-23 World Council of Churches assembly in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He was quoted by Baptist Press.
