ITG -3-3-p. 119, 2nd paragraph: The Qumran scrolls are many magnitudes more reliable than the Babylonian-based Masoretic text...
Wasn't Babylon around 600BC? Wasn't the Qumran scrolls written at the earliest 200BC? Weren't the Masoretes around 1000AD? So how is the Masoretic text based on Babylon?

I think what Yada is saying is that the MT was compiled by religious jews who were under the influence of Babylon. All religions stem from the babylonian religion in one way or another, so to say something is Babylonian is to say it is religious. |

actually....the Masoretic text was compiled at least in part in Babylonia (present day Iraq)
