Subject: books in the Bible?

Greetings from New Zealand....how many books in the Bible? you say 66? when did this come aboutr? thank you, from "TC."

TC,

I don’t use the term “Bible” as it is derived from the name of a pagan sun goddess. As for Scripture, it is comprised of the Torah, Prophets, and Psalms. The number of books is immaterial. There are only a handful of fairly meaningless writings on the periphery which have been questioned regarding canonization going back as far as the fourth and fifth century BCE. A Renewed Covenant cannon including Matthew, Luke, John, Acts, all of Paul’s letters, and Revelation existed in a single bound volume as early as the first part of the second century CE. And while these writings are very important and useful, they aren’t Scripture. Moreover, the Textus Receptus, the basis for all English translations, is rubbish, varying from the oldest manuscripts in some 300,000 places.

I hope this answers your question in the beautiful nation of New Zealand.
