Is this a small example, or dress rehersal, of what might happen when Apophis hits? Is there any corolation time wise between this and Apophis hitting?

It was mass hysteria.

I have just happened upon this thread, and thought I might share a few interesting details, as discovered about this asteroid over the past year or so, which I expect may be an interesting (if nothing else) sidelight for the odd reader or two. Actually, to be fair; it is more about the origins of Apophis (or Apopohis), and what all this means for us today. So, as I understand it, in a nutshell;



Apophis (above) originally, as part of Egyptian cosmogonic mythology around the time of Moses; was the 'god' of the underworld. He was a snake ‘god’ and also the main enemy of the head 'god' Amen (later Amen-Ra); who respectively was the original 'creator god' of the world. Since creation had been completed; Amen now spent his time looking after the passage of the sun as it travelled from east to west every day, and then (remembering that the earth was at that time flat) also each night - from west to east through the underworld - towards the next morning's sunrise. Hence Amen was the ‘sun god’, and since the sun was the thing that provided the stuff of life, Amen was also the ‘god’ of life and order.

And hence; why the enemy snake 'god' Apophis - of the underworld comes into the picture - especially during the hours of each worldly night period. For interestingly enough, as the sun travelled from west to east each night through the the realm of Apophis; the underworld snake-man enemy, would again commence his fight to wrestle the sun from out of the control of Amen. The fight of course was always fierce, so Amen enlisted the help in this nightly battle for control over the sun; of two lesser 'gods' - one naturally enough being his own 'god'-man son - Set.

So a religious gathering called a ‘Dawn Service’ would again convene as each morning loomed, in order to pray for and hopefully witness another triumph by this 'godly' trinity under Amen, and each successive morning, the previous night's victory was witnessed with cheers of joy, as the sun would again rise over the horizon, heralding another success by Amen over his (and our) adversary Apophis.

The mythology did not end there however, as it was well understood that Amen, as mighty a warrior ‘god’ as he was, would one day lose the nightly battle to Apophis, which would necessarily bring eternal destruction upon the world, for the sun would have then disappeared forever, into the clutches of the evil snake-man enemy Apophis. Hence Apophis; also being the ‘god’ of darkness, disorder and eternal destruction.

Fortunately we can now see that Amen has effectively been victorious in every nightly battle with Apophis over who controls the sun, for at least the past 3500 years or more, and I guess, unless we were to know better - we might all have the greater Christianity to thank for this, as being after all this time - for the good of all of us - the religion, which is by far still most overtly supportive of the galant efforts of Amen in his nightly battles with this dreaded underworld enemy snake-man. However, as we all know; with every victory; brings us ever closer to the ever nearing battle occasioning defeat.

So wouldn’t it be an amazing thing for us (hypothetically) to now be witness to the very same mythical pagan Egyptian religious system, as still going strong after all these millenium, in a largely disguised manner – being essentially and fundamentally still with us today – under a different banner, yet still involving all the same characters - under different names, and still presided over by a (new Roman) Pharaoh - with a different title, still being propped up via a religiously determined priesthood of Amen - as under a different identification, and still proposed to be supporting an ongoing fight with an enemy snake-man – with a different epithet?

Wouldn’t it be also amazing if (hypothetically) the eventual destruction that we read about in books such as Revelation, as prophetically coming upon our planet some day, were to descend via a heavenly body with the very same name as this Egyptian snake-man ‘god’ of eternal destruction? And wouldn’t it be even more amazing if the book of the Bible, which is all about the prophetic destruction of the world, being (relatively recently) re-titled ‘Revelation’; was originally named after this very same snake-man enemy of Amen, Apopohis – via the phonetically similar title ‘Apocalypse’?

Wouldn’t it be the most amazing (hypothetical) observation of all, if our TRUE and ETERNAL CREATOR and FATHER – YAH, were ultimately to BLESS mankind by honouring their CHOSEN ongoing worship system of the past 3500 years, as under Amen; in a manner that mankind has never seen fit to do towards HIM - by permitting their CHOSEN Egyptian theology (under a different name), to ultimately be the blueprint for the prophesied destructive end, entirely in accordance with their ongoing chosen worship system – as entirely under Amen? And hypothetically speaking; through precisely his same evil adversary – Apopohis (or Apophis) - himself?

Also interesting to note is; heavenly bodies within, (or that visit) our solar system such as Haley’s Comet and asteroid Apophis are all placed in various categories that identify what type of visitor they are - to our scientific determinations. One of these categories is all about the heavenly objects that come close enough to earth to cause us to watch them with deep concern. Asteroid Apophis has been placed in this particular grouping, and comes by far the closest, yet has only ever been seen once before – in 2005, when it was first discovered by a couple of university students. One of these students named it Apophis after a character on an episode of the science fiction series Stargate, yet amazingly, he had no idea that it was this very name that was determined via Egyptian pagan theology some 3500 years ago – to be the ultimate cause of the annihilation of all life on this planet.

In any case, the grouping that the asteroid Apophis has been placed into by scientists who look after such things, has the name ‘THE ATEN’ group of heavenly bodies – which is yet another extremely interesting echo from the past in itself; as it was by this very same name – ‘THE ATEN’, was the alternative, yet decidedly less popular CREATOR – also from out of ancient Egypt - and was the ONE seemingly embraced by the descendants of Israel, who found themselves in that place after following their brother Joseph due to drought.

In fact, it was to this very same ‘THE ATEN’, whom the first monotheistic society the world has ever known, was all about - under Pharaoh Akhenaten, who was Joseph's great grandson, and who respectively was himself later to be known by an alternative identification - MOSES - as this writer understands it.
