I have just been reading an article (http://frontpagemag.com/2010/05/04/christianity-and-cultural-survival/) that posits that the decline in Christian belief is inversely proportional to the rise in Islam, especially in Europe.

Much of this is due to Christianity’s failure to come to grips with the 'Theory of Evolution' in the context of Genesis.

I do not want to go into the considerable scientific deficit in neo-darwinian theory or that the word ‘science’ has had to be redefined to include the term ‘naturalistic’ in order to preclude Intelligent Design.
What to me is interesting is why Christianity has lost its self confidence in the face of what is really speculation.

If Christianity was really searching for the truth of YHWH then it would have no truck with ‘evolution’ as it would be irrelevant. But as it is, Christianity has had to compromise with Darwin in order to try and retain a measure of self respect. Islam makes no such compromises.

Few people leave Christianity and go to Islam, they leave Christianity as atheists or agnostics because Christianity is just not relevant any more. The ‘social gospel’ is trumped by socialist humanism so why bother with the ‘gospel’ part of it.
Socialist Humanism has the backing of the ‘Prince of Greece’, Islam has the backing of the ‘Prince of Persia’ and I strongly suspect that there is a ‘Prince of the Americas’ pushing the ‘Mother Earth’ green movements.

There was a time when protestant Christianity was ‘seeking the Kingdom of God’ and received a limited blessing because of it. It never sought FIRST the Kingdom of YHWH and it never sought HIS righteousness (Torah, manifest in Yahushua) it always preferred to define its own righteousness hence the sectarian nature of Christianity.
On the whole, Christianity is now seeking a form of celebrity, where doctrine coagulates around a charismatic host who provides Sunday morning entertainment. There is no personal responsibility involved, maybe except the ‘gifting’.

Most of us who participate in this forum have to take individual responsibility for our relationship with YHWH because we have been thrown out of conventional ‘churches’ for various reasons, usually including asking too many difficult and challenging questions and a subsequent failure to be satisfied with a fob-off answer.

If one is seeking truth, one starts looking for answers of oneself, however if one is looking for an ‘intellectually’ based religion, then atheism seems to hold real answers, and the moral relativity is more satisfying than the Christian ‘big brother’ approach to mores.

In one fellowship we attended in the early 1980’s three wives of ‘deacons’ committed suicide in the course of two years, these young mothers could not cope with the demands of being the wife of an ambitious fellowship appointee, where the ‘microscope of (man’s) righteousness’ was being applied to their personal lives.

Dawkins describes his supreme relief at being released from the bondage of ‘religion’, whilst not realizing that atheism is a religion of belief in no belief.

Whilst Islam is apparently the current major destructive force in the world today, it is hosted (in the West) by atheistic socialist humanism: a byproduct of the failure of Christianity (and to a lesser extent by Orthodox Judaism) to “seek FIRST the Kingdom of YHWH and His TORAH”

There in lies the key to the problem, they are not interested in Yahuweh's Truth, they are interested in their own.

Great post by the way.
Don't take my word for it, Look it up.
