So, good and bad news today. I found out the person I was trying to sell my instrument to over Yadaslist was a scammer, who sent me forged money orders. I mean, it wasn't too hard to find out. It was, actually, pretty obvious the whole time this was fake. And I can't deny the tug of common sense on me (or was that the Spirit?).

After finding out, I immediately wrote out a VERY strongly worded little bit about me not being an idiot, him being a bad thief, etc. etc. But, I felt that wasn't the right course of action. So, back to the drawing boards.

The next one was by far, less strongly worded. Yet still, it seemed wrong... So, the following is my 3rd draft, what I ended up sending:

"Hey,

Well, these are forgeries. I have to admit, I'm not in the least bit
shocked, but I am disappointed. I wanted to believe you. I did. I
tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, I tried to work with you,
and in return, you tried to steal from me. Not shocked, but
disappointed.

But hey, I forgive you. And I'm not just saying it. There are more
important things in life than money. And I'm not going to try to
report you to the authorities. First of all, I don't think there is
anything they could possibly do, even if they could find you (which I
doubt, since you are probably in some foreign country), and secondly,
I have been forgiven for even more than this. It would be wrong of me
to not in turn forgive you.

That being said, I'd like to give you a link to a website: www.yadayahweh.com
You should go there, and discover the truth. There is a God who loves
you, who knows you, who already took the steps to present you with the
gift of forgiveness and a new life. You just have to accept it. And
don't think this is just some crazy christian missionary speaking. I'm
none of the above. I'm just someone who has been changed by the love
of Yahweh, the God of the universe. I hope you check it out.

I don't expect you to read all of this. I expect even less that you
will respond to it. If you have gotten this far though, I would just
like to tell you not to try to get the instrument from me again.
Sorry, but I would not even accept straight up cash for it from you
now. Sorry friend, but you ruined that. Lastly, I hope you do go check
out the website I provided for you. It may be the best thing you ever
do. Ever. You will find treasure worth more value than all the gold in
the world inside, and all the money you could ever make. If you have
any questions about it, or about God or things of that nature, do not
hesitate to email me. If not, I'm sorry, but I won't even respond to
you. Have a great week, and I sincerely hope Yahweh blesses you and
shows Himself to you. There is not much time left brother, please make
the right choice."

What do you think? Too harsh? Too soft? Maybe we'll see a new forum member with lots of questions in the next few days/weeks? I hope I get a new brother in Yah from this. I ask for your prayers for him. That would just make today a fantastic day. Thanks!
Yahuweh is faithful and loving beyond my thoughts, feelings, emotions, actions, and petty human notions of what constitutes right and wrong. So high does He soar above all things that I do not even know if proclaiming Him as good is in fact good. It is certainly not adequate. So I am thankful still that He accepts my small sacrifices, my petty praises, that my words reach His mighty ears. Thank you Yahweh. May we all learn what is right in your sight, and not our own.

Was thanked: 3 time(s) in 2 post(s)
If he's a serious scammer he'll probably not read it. It's like trying to respond to a Nigerian spam email. Nice email though.

Excellent. When we were still in high school, a friend of mine got screwed on an Ebay sale. He wrote a simple letter to the woman, much like yours, and she ended up sending the item back to him.

Just out of curiosity, is the instrument a trumpet or a piano? If so, you may have an interested client here.

No, it is unfortunately not. It's a trombone. If you are interested in learning it though, I've got some books I could send as well... ;)

O, and I'll be sure to post his reply. If there ever will be one.
