It truly is a shame that America just does not get it. My prayers go out to all the soldiers and their families.

U.S. Muslim Group Urges Calm, Unity After Fort Hood Shootings
Thu Nov 5, 2009 9:14pm EST

WASHINGTON, Nov. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Council on American-Islamic
Relations (CAIR) tonight reiterated the Muslim community's condemnation of
today's deadly shootings at Fort Hood in Texas and urged the nation to remain
calm and unified as Americans nationwide react to the tragic events.

At a news conference tonight on Capitol Hill, CAIR National Executive Director
Nihad Awad said:

"We reiterate the American Muslim community's condemnation of this cowardly
attack. Right now, we call on all Americans to assist those who are responding
to this atrocity. We must ensure that the wounded are treated and the families
of those who were murdered have an opportunity to mourn.

"No political or religious ideology could ever justify or excuse such wanton
and indiscriminate violence. The attack was particularly heinous in that it
targeted our nation's all-volunteer army that includes thousands of Muslims in
all services. We again offer our thoughts and prayers for the victims and
sincere condolences for the families of those killed or injured.

"The motive of the attacker is not yet known. We urge all Americans to remain
calm in reaction to this tragic event and to demonstrate once again what is
best about America -- our nation's ability to remain unified even in times of
crisis. We urge national political and religious leaders and media
professionals to set a tone of calm and unity.

"Unfortunately, based on past experience, we also urge American Muslims, and
those who may be perceived to be Muslim, to take appropriate precautions to
protect themselves, their families and their religious institutions from
possible backlash.

"We ask that individuals and institutions review advice on security procedures
contained in CAIR's 'Muslim Community Safety Kit,' which is available online
at www.cair.com."

Along with innumerable condemnations of terror, CAIR has in the past launched
an online anti-terror petition drive called "Not in the Name of Islam,"
initiated a television public service announcement (PSA) campaign against
religious extremism and coordinated a "fatwa," or Islamic religious ruling,
against terrorism and extremism.

CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization.
Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue,
protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that
promote justice and mutual understanding.

I caught this story on the TV news yesterday evening and heard first that there was no information beyond the causulty count and means of attack. I wanted to see what would emerge as the cause and remeber even as they anounced the attacker's name that thety were unsure of the cause since he was a Major and Pyschiatrist troubled over an upcoming deployment call.

This morning we learned shocking clue, at least if we believe CAIR:

Quote:
Army: Suspect said `Allahu Akbar!' before shooting

http://news.yahoo.com/s/...us/us_fort_hood_shooting

Sadly the report went on in part to say:

Quote:
By APRIL CASTRO and DEVLIN BARRETT, Associated Press Writers April Castro And Devlin Barrett, Associated Press Writers –

FORT HOOD, Texas – The base commander at Fort Hood says soldiers who witnessed a shooting rampage that left 13 people dead reported that the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!" before opening fire at the Texas post.

Lt. Gen. Robert Cone told NBC's "Today" show on Friday that suspected shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, made the comment, which is Arabic for "God is great!" before the rampage Thursday that also left 30 people wounded.

Military officials say they are still piecing together what may have pushed Hasan, an Army psychiatrist trained to help soldiers in distress, to turn on his comrades.

Cone says Hasan was not known to be a threat or risk.

Hasan was shot four times during the rampage. Cone says he is hospitalized in stable condition and that military officials will interrogate him as soon as possible.

I wonder how many of the supposed Chrisitan terrorists shout "Jesus Loves You" while sluaghtering their victims. :(

My wife heard a news report today that included both...

"He was calm, and yelled 'Allahu Akbar' before he began shooting."

--AND--

"Investigators are still searching for a motive."

*sigh*

Shalom,

Such incidents only show how grey in the head the USA has become. The USA leaders have little clue about Islam and despite the work by ACT, too few politicians and community leaders understand that Islam is at war with the world. They have declared it so clearly, brazenly shout it out before each attack and the leaders still fail to recognise the enemy. Tsk, tsk! What would it take for them to realise the Islamic dichotomy between Dar Al Harb and Dar Al Islam?

This video "The Sixth Pillar, Jihad!" shows that Hasan was merely doing his duty:

"You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."
But first, it will piss you off!

I saw the following headline and almost feel that it distracts from the motivation:

Quote:
Fort Hood shooting: Texas army killer linked to September 11 terrorists

From: http://www.telegraph.co....ember-11-terrorists.html

The Article goes on to say in part:

Quote:
Major Nidal Malik Hasan worshipped at a mosque led by a radical imam said to be a "spiritual adviser" to three of the hijackers who attacked America on Sept 11, 2001.

Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt. His mother's funeral was held there in May that year.

The preacher at the time was Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Yemeni scholar who was banned from addressing a meeting in London by video link in August because he is accused of supporting attacks on British troops and backing terrorist organisations.

Hasan's eyes "lit up" when he mentioned his deep respect for al-Awlaki's teachings, according to a fellow Muslim officer at the Fort Hood base in Texas, the scene of Thursday's horrific shooting spree.

As investigators look at Hasan's motives and mindset, his attendance at the mosque could be an important piece of the jigsaw. Al-Awlaki moved to Dar al-Hijrah as imam in January, 2001, from the west coast, and three months later the September 11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour began attending his services. A third hijacker attended his services in California.

Hasan was praying at Dar al-Hijrah at about the same time, and the FBI will now want to investigate whether he met the two terrorists.

Charles Allen, a former under-secretary for intelligence at the Department of Homeland Security, has described al-Awlaki, who now lives in Yemen, as an "al-Qaeda supporter, and former spiritual leader to three of the September 11 hijackers... who targets US Muslims with radical online lectures encouraging terrorist attacks from his new home in Yemen".

Last night Hasan remained in a coma under guard at a military hospital in San Antonio, Texas, and was said to be in a "stable" condition. Born in America to a Palestinian family, Hasan, 39, was an army psychiatrist who had chosen to sign up for the US military against his parents' wishes.

But he turned into an angry critic of the wars America was waging in Iraq and Afghanistan and had tried in vain to negotiate his discharge.

He counselled soldiers returning from the front line and told relatives that he was horrified at the prospect of a deployment to Afghanistan later this year – his first time in a combat zone.

Whether due to his personal convictions, his stress over his deployment or other reasons, Hasan is alleged to have snapped and gone on a murderous rampage with a powerful semi-automatic handgun after shouting "Allahu Akhbar" ("God is great"), according to survivors. He had earlier given away copies of the Koran to neighbours.

So will this be seen as a "Radical Muslim" 9-11 Al-Qaeda motivated attack?

I thought Yada and Yow'el were quick to recognize the ethnic / racial tone that CAIR will spin the story into during last Friday's broadcast.

From CNN:

Quote:
Murder has no religion

By Arsalan Iftikhar, Special to CNN
November 9, 2009 12:30 p.m. EST

Editor's Note: Arsalan Iftikhar is an international human rights lawyer, founder of TheMuslimGuy.com, and contributing editor for Islamica magazine in Washington.

Washington (CNN) -- Most of the world's 1.57 billion Muslims know that the Holy Quran states quite clearly that, "Anyone who kills a human being ... it shall be as though he has killed all of mankind. ... If anyone saves a life, it shall be as though he has saved the lives of all of mankind."

Accordingly, it should come as little surprise to any reasonable observer that when Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan recently committed his shocking acts of mass murder at Fort Hood, Texas, America's Muslim community of over 7 million felt an added sense of horror and sadness at this senseless attack against the brave men and women of the U.S. armed forces.

True to form, many conservative media pundits wasted little time in pointing to reports that Hasan had said "Allahu Akbar" (Arabic for "God is great") at the start of his murderous rampage. News coverage continuously showed the looping convenience store black-and-white videotape footage of Hasan wearing traditional white Islamic garb.

First of all, someone simply saying "Allahu Akbar" while committing an act of mass murder no more makes their criminal act "Islamic" than a Christian uttering the "Hail Mary" while murdering an abortion medical provider, or someone chanting "Onward, Christian Soldiers" while bombing a gay nightclub, would make their act "Christian" in nature.

Simply put; murder is murder and has no religion whatsoever. Read more HERE

Perfect, here we have a Muslim working as an international human rights lawyer?!

By Associated Press but on Yahoo:

Quote:
Obama salutes Fort Hood victims, condemns murders

FORT HOOD, Texas – One by one, President Barack Obama spoke the names and told the stories Tuesday of the 13 people slain in the Fort Hood shooting rampage, honoring their memories as he denounced the "twisted logic" that led to their deaths.

"No faith justifies these murderous and craven acts; no just and loving God looks upon them with favor," Obama told the crowd on a steamy Texas afternoon. "And for what he has done, we know that the killer will be met with justice — in this world and the next."

Yup, since Allah is not a just and loving God we can surely know that Allah looks upon Nidal Hasan with favor.

Also, I wonder which God Obama is talking about when he says Nidal Hasan will be met with justice, because it surely ain't Yahweh? Or is Obama just saying whatever he needs to say in order to try and please the right-wing Christian movement?
