What do you guys make of this? What I'm not sure is, why would David choose to build Jerusalem on top of another city, or is this wall some distance away from Temple Mount? Is their dating right that this wall is some 3700 years old?

well they had to build somewhere I suppose... the only thing Yah told them not to do was to use/go near/adopt any of their pagan ways as to say. |

The date makes this a Jebusite structure. The Jebusites (who moved into the area sometime after Abraham's time) were one of the seven Canaanite nations slated for utter destruction by the Israelites. (See Deuteronomy 7:1-2)
