I was just struck to wonder if perhaps original the words 'el, and 'elohim were originally 'avav, and 'av. Obviously we can only go with the knowledge we have, but, in knowing the character of our god, and father Yahuweh, I wouldn't doubt it.
Someone who does not dearly love or welcome, entertain, look fondly upon or cherish people with strong affection or highly esteem them with great favour, goodwill or benevolence, be loyal to or greatly adore them has not known or understood, perceived or realized, noticed or discerned, discovered or observed, experienced or ascertained, learned about or distinguished, comprehended, acknowledged or recognized God*, for concerning this, God* is and exists as brotherly love and affection, good will, esteem and benevolence.

Def a very interesting thought. I am just inclined to think that Yah wanted us to know that He, indeed, is God though. Utilizing el and elohim in that sense would make perfect sense.

Unfortunately, my presumption didn't take into account words like 'el-shaddai and the like. Words which, admittedly, wouldn't figure very nicely into this hypothesis.
