Do you guys have a reference to the Gihon Spring going bitter in 1033? I've been googling for it like a mad man, but have not really found any kind of "historical" reference to this. I've found it mentioned on a couple of christian sites, but they didn't list a source. Any ideas?

It's in here, maybe 75% of the way down the page. http://www.biblicaltheol.../Research/MartinE01.html

yeah, that's one of the articles I found, but it didn't look like he cited anything in his biblio for this. I emailed him to see if he has a reference for it.

Poking around, it seems to be common knowledge that there was a major earthquake in Jerusalem in 1033. It would be significant to very few that the Gihon spring went bad as a result, so nobody pays much attention to that detail.

Understoof, but that doesn't negate the value of having a source for the information. I've found plenty of refs to the quake in 1033, but pretty much nothing that talks about the water going septic.
