A rich 80-year-old Indian widow has spent thousands of dollars on a feast for 100,000 people in the hope it would please the gods and open the doors of heaven for her, local officials said.

Shabbat Shalom,

This may seem futile to us who know the Truth but in the Far East good works are supposed to account for something better in the next life. Deception has been the order of the millenia and the god of this world laughs at the results. I feel a little sad for she could have done something more lasting and impactful with her money than throw a party. Even in the realm of salvation-by-works people are unsure what gives them the best credits...
The reverence of Yahweh is the beginning of Wisdom.
