I am really puzzled about the working of the Set-Apart Spirit in those folks who 'shamar' the Torah, before Yahowsha's advent, and the working of the Set-Apart Spirit in the new followers of Yahowsha after Shabua. Were these new followers, especially non-Yahudim, actually being 'filled with the Spirit' simply by 'believing in the resurrection'? before they studied the Torah? before 'knowing' Yahowah, before being circumcised, etc.?

Personally I am highly skeptical of these accounts in Acts. It to me seems very out of place from the whole of Scripture and has a real christian feel to it. Acts is second and third hand accounts at best so not the most reliable source, and Luke was buddies with Paul so there is that as well. |
Don't take my word for it, Look it up.

It really sounds like a complete mismatch.

I agree, y'all. The instantaneous conversion experience is inconsistent with Yahowah's established Way of doing things. It's like becoming an instant millionaire by winning the lottery as opposed to achieving financial stability through frugality and diligent labor. That's a lame comparison, I know, but it sort of fits with the Christian way of thinking. |

I am also suspect of the NT account. Too much "show" and pomp and circumstance. The point was well made in the book "Robbing Peter to Pay Paul" that I really enjoyed.

Well I tried to upload both a pdf and a zip file of "Fossilized Customs" but it didn't work. Perhaps the file is too large. They are both about 7 MB. Zipping a pdf file doesn't save much. Sorry it failed. Edited by moderator Friday, May 3, 2013 2:56:13 AM(UTC)
